Yes it would, the Pokemon would be protected every time it works.
But it doesn't keep restarting so the accuracy will get lower and lower every time they are used consecutively.
Protect and Substitute works though.

Protect and Detect will not keep on working. Their accuracy goes down even if used one after another.
