Would Memento and Mean Look/Arena Trap etc. work?

I send out a Pokemon knowing Mean look and then use Memento. Then I either sweep or switch. Would this work?

No, as Mean Look/Arena trap only take effect when the user is in battle. If it faints, the opponent would be free to switch again...
