Attack raising/Defense lowering physical moves?

Say for example:
Metatroll used Meteor mash! Metagross's attack was raised!
Blisstroll took ____ damage?

Is the damage from the attack boost applied to the current turn or is it only boosted after the turn?

Stat Changes such as the ones mentioned are applied after the move is used, meaning that the Atk raising effect of Meteor Mash will not boost Atk until after it has been successfully used, and if it raises "Metatroll's" Atk, it will only do so afterwards.
