Generation 7

Plusle and Minun are born to battle together as they cheer each other on.
Plusle
Plusle (M) @ Magnet
Ability: Plus
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)

  • Thunderbolt
  • Grass Knot
  • Sweet Kiss
  • Nasty Plot

Minun
Minun (M) @ Sitrus Berry
Trait: Minus
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)

  • Helping Hand
  • Light Screen
  • Thunderbolt
  • Encore

The thought behind is that Plusle acts as the attacker since it has higher attacking stats, while Minun acts as support since it has higher defensive stats.

How to use Plusle:
Plusle is the attacker and that is basically what you're going to do. You spam Thunderbolt as long as it's possible. If a Ground type or another counter comes in, you hit them with Grass Knot.
If the opportunity presents itself, set up with Nasty Plot. But this shouldn't be a priority because of the ability Plus, which raises your SAtk. Sweet Kiss is there for when things seem hopeless and could potentially save you.

How to use Minun:
Minun's job is to make Plusle's life as easy as possible. Start with setting up Light Screen for some much needed bulk. After that, spam Helping Hand to Plusle so the Discharge becomes devastating.
If the opposition uses a non-attacking move (e.g. Swords Dance), take advantage and target them with Encore. Thunderbolt is there in case Plusle faints.

Plusle @ Focus Sash
Plusle
Ability: Plus
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe / 4 HP
• Nasty Plot
• Discharge
• Grass Knot
• Baton Pass / Signal Beam

Minun @ Life Orb
Minun
Ability: Minus
Nature: Timid
EVs: 252 Spe / 128 SpA / 128 SpD
• Protect
• Helping Hand
• Thunderbolt / Discharge
• Grass Knot

First turn, Plusle sets up Nasty Plot and Minun just uses Protect. Then Minun can help with Helping Hand or use Thunderbolt/Discharge/Grass Knot. Special Defense EVs on Minun are for living through Plusle’s Discharge better.

Minun (M) @ Air Balloon

Ability: Minus

EVs: 128 SpA / 128 SpD / 252 Spe

Calm Nature (+SpD, -Atk)

  • Nasty Plot
  • Thunder
  • Hidden Power [Water]
  • Substitute

For use in the rain only

He has the bulk to use Nasty Plot, especially with no weaknesses (Air Balloon).
He can also Sub up to Plot safely, HP Water gets a rain boost, while Thunder gets 100% accuracy in the rain. This is indeed, a Single battle set.

Then why minus as a ability? Use volt absorb instead to have a safe switch in.

Plusle Minun

Minun/Plusle @ Life Orb

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)

  • Thunderbolt
  • Grass Knot
  • Hidden Power Ice
  • Nasty Plot/Volt Switch

Thunderbolt is STAB.
Grass Knot gives some coverage and is a good move.
Hidden Power Ice hits Grass types and works well with Tbolt.
Nasty Plot boost SpA, Volt Switch can scout and is STAB.
Same set for both.

Single Battle

Plusle (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Plus
EVs: 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature (+Spe, -Atk)

  • Entrainment
  • Volt Switch
  • Fling / Electroball
  • Protect / Hp Ice

Fling with protect, electroball with HP Ice

Entrainment stops Magic Guard Duosion n Kadabra in thier tracks, along with other Pokemon that rely on thier abilities. Volt switch is for scouting. Fling is just to get rid of the scarf, along with protect for extra scouting, or Electroball takes advantage of that high speed, with HP ice for coverage.

This set is for Plusle/Minun sweepers in Single Battles.

Plusle/Minun @ Focus Sash
Ability: Volt Absorb
EVs: 252 Sp. Atk / 252 Spd / 4 HP
Timid Nature
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Grass Knot
- Signal Beam

It's not as absurd of an idea as it sounds. Okay, that's a lie. There are much better Pokémon suited for the job, like Earthquake Landorus. But your enemy will never see it coming and think of it as a joke, and start setting up. That's when you start setting up with Nasty Plot. As long as your enemy is slower than you, you can use your doubled/tripled/quadrupled Sp. Atk stat to use STAB Thunderbolt on pretty much everything. The Focus Sash is just a signal of when to go on the offensive.

If you run into a Ground type, they're either Primal Groudon or heavy. That's where Grass Knot comes in, as it's going to have about 120 power on most Uber ground types.

And Signal Beam is primarily for coverage against Psychic types, because they're annoying. Celebi resists Grass Knot which doesn't matter that much, but it resists Thunderbolt as well and that's one of the only reasons why you should run Signal Beam on this set.

Seriously, when you get to use this in Ubers, it gets stuff done.

Gen 7 ZU

Plusle @ Normalium Z
Ability: Lightning Rod
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Sing
- Nasty Plot
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]

Lightning Rod allows Plusle to switch in to electric type attacks, gaining a special attack boost. Sing is for Z-Sing, which raises Plusle's speed by one stage, and puts the opponent to sleep if it lands. Nasty Plot is to boost your Special Attack even further. Thunderbolt is STAB. HP Ice is for ground types and gives Plusle the BoltBeam combo.

To be used in Singles (or Doubles), preferably in the lower tiers.

plus five (Plusle) (M) @ Choice Specs
Ability: Lightning Rod / Plus
Tera Type: Grass
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Volt Switch
- Alluring Voice
- Grass Knot
- Thunderbolt

Volt Switch is to well... switch. Alluring Voice is a new Fairy move that confuses the target if it has a stat stage raised. Grass Knot is Ground coverage and gets STAB with Tera Grass. Thunderbolt is STAB. Plus is if you're playing Doubles, and Lightning Rod works for both occasions.

This one is just for Doubles.

minus nine (Minun) (M) @ Leftovers
Ability: Volt Absorb / Minus
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Electroweb
- Helping Hand
- Light Screen
- Encore

Electroweb is basically just Electric Icy Wind and is an amazing support move, lowering other Pokémon's Speed. Helping Hand increases the BP of the target's move by 1.5x. Light Screen is great as it effectively doubles your Special Defense. Encore forces the target to use the same move for 3 turns. Minus is for Doubles and basically if you want to play with Plusle & Minun, while Volt Absorb works for both occasions. Tera Flying is for a Ground immunity.
