What does the repeat ball do?

I am new to Pokemon and started this summer. Please help me. Thank you.

The Repeat Ball makes it easier to catch a Pokemon that you previoulsy caught.
If you are trying to catch a Pokemon that you previously caught you have a x3 catch rate.
