How come, even if you have max EVs, why do your Pokemon still get stat raises?

I know my Genesect is max EVed, but it still gets more in stats. Why?

Because raising the levels increase a stat naturally. It wouldnt be a challenge if a level 1 Genesect had the same stats a level 100 Genesect. Anyways Evs arent what determined your stats. They just increase the stats you already have. You just naturally gain stats points for level ups.
