Pokémon Scarlet & Violet were announced in a Pokémon Presents on Pokémon Day

Announcement trailer

The official announcement of Scarlet & Violet from the Pokémon Presents. It starts with a security guard entering an office in Game Freak HQ, but things go a little crazy and through a bright light we see some game footage. It consists of various scenes from the new region, showing some Pokémon from previous games in the wild. Back in the office, the security guard sees a painting of the new starter Pokémon on the wall.
Second Trailer

The second trailer after a long quiet period shows off some more of the region and some new Pokemon. There are different professors depending on which version you pick. Your new friend/rival is Nemona and she uses Pawmi, Lechonk, and Smoliv.
There are shots of many differing landscapes; at the end of the video a cut scene reveals the box legendaries.

The second part of the August Pokémon Presents gives a more in-depth look at various Pokémon and mechanics to be introduced in Scarlet/Violet. The games are noted as open world RPGs. It's revealed that Koraidon and Miraidon will be your partner in adventure, and can be ridden to traverse the landscape.
The academy and treasure hunt are detailed. Three separate stories are part of the game, one of which involves the familiar gym battles. Next, the Pokémon of Paldea are introduced, including Paldean Wooper, Fidough, and Cetitan. Multiplayer features include co-op play with up to three friends and racing across the map.
The Terastal phenomenon causes Pokémon to become crystallized, and change type. Raid battles return from Sword/Shield, this time with Terastallized Pokémon.
Competitive Play Trailer

At the Pokémon World Championships, a trailer focusing on competitive elements was shown at the closing ceremony. A new Pokémon Cyclizar is revealed, with a new move Shed Tail. New items Mirror Herb and Loaded Dice and a move Tera Blast are exhibited.
Grafaiai camera trap

Styled as a nature documentary, the narrator explains that a new Pokémon, Grafaiai makes colorful markings on trees to attract prey. We see Grafaiai eating berries in front of the camera, and then painting on the trees.

Seek Your Treasure

Several aspects of the SV story are revealed. In Starfall Street, the player takes on the rebellious students of Team Star, from the Paldea academy. In the Path of Legends, the player must seek out the legendary Herba Mystica by defeating Titan Pokémon
. And in Victory Road we see the familiar gym battles, and Brassius the Grass-type leader is introduced.

Jump into a Paldean Journey

An extended gameplay trailer showcasing what the Paldean region has to offer. It starts with Terastal, and reveals that wild Pokémon can Terastallize. Next, the Let's Go
command allows Pokémon to battle other wild Pokémon on their own and pickup items. The feature is then used to take on Team Star's base. The TM Machine is announced, where TMs can be crafted from items. After some footage of Titan Klawf, the player trades a Girafarig, which later evolves into Farigiraf.
The Victory Road segment is shown next, with a gym battle. Then we see trainer customization, followed by a photo feature. Picnics allow you to play with your Pokémon, and you can make sandwiches to receive bonuses. Finally, four players team up for a Tera Raid Battle.

New Ghost-type Pokémon

In the run-up to Halloween, this found footage
style trailer premiered, showing a Paldean student exploring a spooky area. A Mimikyu and Gengar appear briefly, then the student sees a candle in the ground. A ghostly dog Pokémon jumps out of the ground - the student tries to play fetch but it seems the dog drained her life force...
Greavard gameplay trailer

Following the previous video, the new Pokémon is revealed as Greavard and in-game footage is shown. Several are shown hiding in the ground with their candles making a circle.
Mysterious coins

After a mysterious Pokémon appeared in Pokémon GO, a chat between Professor Willow from GO and Mr. Jacq from Scarlet/Violet provides some background information. It's revealed as Gimmighoul and has two forms, for which Willow & Jacq come up with the names Chest Form
and Roaming Form
. An old story is told about a girl who gives coins to the Gimmighoul.

Set to Ed Sheeran's song Celestial, which is part of the SV soundtrack, we see a bunch of gameplay footage. Most is what we've already seen, however towards the end we see brief shots of two new Pokémon, referred to as Great Tusk and Iron Treads.
