"Go, Ultra Ball!" yelled Marie as she flung a tin shaped like an Ultra Ball across the room. However, it crashed into a small table lamp, and the lamp fell to the floor and broke. "O-Oops..." she muttered, blinking in surprise. Then her mom ran into the room and saw the broken lamp. "Oh, Marie, not again..." "Sorry, mom... I didn't mean to hit it!" Marie hastily added. "You've got to stop charging around the house like that. You could hurt yourself, you know." "I... didn't know." Her mom sighed and facepalmed. When she removed her hand, Marie could see rage building in her eyes. "Uh, I'll just go to my room and relax, okay, mom?" she said, then dashed up the stairs and into her room and closed the door, not waiting for a response. She laid down on her bed and stared blankly at the ceiling. "Are you feeling all right?" asked a voice. Marie slowly turned to see a blond-haired boy standing near the side of her bed. "Oh, hey, Gladion. Yeah, I'm fine." "So, uh... you broke a lamp again?" Gladion asked awkwardly, scratching the side of his head. "Yup. Third time. Mom should stop buying such expensive and fragile lamps. That'd probably tick her off less if I broke one then. Stupid ugly lamps..." Marie had a bit of an angry edge to her voice. "Well, what do you plan to do?" Gladion asked her. "Huh?" "I mean, do you want to visit the Pokemon world?" "Oh! Yeah, sure! Let's just find the gang first!" she replied happily. "Well, guess I'd better get back so your mom doesn't spot me." Gladion muttered. Then Marie started opening the window. "You don't have to! We can just climb out the window!" she said. "Wait, huh?! This is the second floor! You could break your leg or something!" Gladion exclaimed, eyes wide. "Ah, don't worry so much!" Then she pointed towards the open window. "Pokemon characters first!" she said with a laugh. "Oh, boy..." Gladion then climbed out the window and held onto its rim with one hand for a few seconds before dropping to the ground, landing feet-first and falling to his knees. When he got up, Marie suddenly tumbled out the window, flailing wildly, and fell on him. "Nice catch, Gladion!" "Augh...! You were right... I shouldn't have been worrying about your bones... it's mine I should've been worried about, because it feels like you just broke one of my ribs...!" "Oops, sorry!" Marie exclaimed. "Oh, jeez, Marie! Did you have to jump outta the window?!" cried a voice in shock. Marie and Gladion sat up to see a girl with black hair and sapphire eyes. She wore white ballerina leggings, a white tank top with a pink and lavender heart on it, a lavender choker, and white high tops. Her name was Luna, and she was one of Marie's friends. "Hey, Luna! And yeah, I did. I wanted to get Gladion out without my mom noticing." "Why couldn't he just go-" Luna began, but then realized that Marie had landed on top of him. "Sheesh, are you okay?!" she asked him. "Oh, yeah, Sapphire... aside from the impact of Pika's body and her spine stabbing me in the ribs, I'm just absolutely perfect and wonderful..." Gladion muttered, sitting up. Marie and Luna both knew that Pika was Marie's name when she visited the world of Pokemon, as Luna's name was Sapphire.
