I was working on my story last night (good news, I finished Chapter 3 and I'm doing Chapter 4 now) when I suddenly got an idea. So I've decided to share it with you, since that was the entire point. What is it, you ask? It's my idea for the Pika x Gladion ship in your fanfic! I bet you're completely shocked (XD). This is just my idea for how it could work, and that means I'm not holding a gun to your head and telling you to write it. You're free to use it... or not. I think it'd be cool if you used it, but it's entirely up to you. So, without further ado, here it is:
Pika gets a crush on Gladion from the first time they meet, as you know. But since she doesn't want everybody and their grandma to know about her crush, she tries to hide it. The other reason she hides it is because she doesn't think Gladion likes her back, and saying you have a crush on a friend of yours when they don't like you back can ruin your friendship, and that's the last thing she'd want. After all, she considers him to be her best friend and never wants to lose her friends. However, she's not exactly good at hiding it, as she's nervous around him and blushes around him a lot. It's her first crush, which means she doesn't exactly know what to do about it, except try to hide it.
During the beginning, Gladion just sees Pika as a friend, as they are friends. He is completely oblivious to her crush on him, even though she's terrible at hiding it. However, he eventually gets a bit of a crush on her. He actually hides it pretty well, but the gang (except for Pika) will piece it together eventually. He might blush a bit around her sometimes, depending on the situation. He also doesn't want to tell anyone for basically the same reasons as Pika doesn't want to tell anyone. But for Gladion, there's also another reason: he thinks it's a minor little crush that he'll get over. After all, he thinks, Pika's just a good friend who doesn't like him back, so he'll get over it... right? Wrong. He thinks that he'll get over it and be regular again, but (surprise, surprise) he doesn't. Instead, he just crushes on her more and more over time, which she is completely oblivous to. It also makes him feel quite awkward, as she's his first crush, like he's Pika's first crush.
So, basically, they both get crushes on each other while thinking the other doesn't like them back. There'll be the whole "does he/she like me back?" moments where they wonder... exactly that. For example, if my first idea's gonna be used (and if it is, I'd like it to be used before Gladion gets a crush on Pika), Pika will be wondering if he likes her back, because he complemented her. Whether you use this or not, please tell me your thoughts.

Yay, it's a new month! I celebrated by... going to the Battle Tree and trying to destroy people with my new Eeveelution buddy while blasting Gladion's battle theme. What a good start to the day. Chao and fanfic news don't exist. See ya!
