Ah, it's your accent. I thought it was a Pokémon term I hadn't heard about.

I like reading case studies :D What's a Shpare 'Mon?

I'm also thinking I'm going to post in other case studies, and make a "Shpare 'Mons" on my teambuilder.

Intersting bit about Verizion. You missed one of her other major selling points, though: Quick Guard. I think she would make an effective lead with  Thundurus-I. Covers Rock and Ice with CC and Leaf Blade, and Thundy takes out Flying types.

Quick Guard protects you from Talonflame's obvious Brave Bird while Thundurus KOs with Thunderbolt. It also blocks Conkeldurr and Breloom's Mach Punch for Hydreigon, Bullet Punch for Sylveon and Azumarill, and Aqua Jet for Heatran and Arcanine. I would potentially run Quick Guard > Stone Edge, but that's just me.

Case Study: Virizion (doing this because I at first didn't know why it was used at all)

Virizion, from glance, is a legendary pokemon of very little worth considering legendary. I mean, it does have great speed and special defense, but being a Grass type this special defense is not very helpful. It's (relatively) a slouch on the offensive side, with 90 base attack and special attack. It's speed makes no sense against bird spam (T-flame more correctly) and it is still slower than the many 110 base speed pokemon. Pretty underwhelming, and I was pretty sure it wasn't going to make a bench mark.
I may have been wrong here.

Virizion is a lot more case specific than I thought. "That meant jack" says the layman, so let's be more clear. Virizion's speed is it's win factor because 108 is more than enough to outspeed powerhouses like MegaZard, MegaKhan, Rotoms on Scarf, un-Scarfed Hydreigon, MegaVoir, Zapdos, Salamence and more (unlike it's slower counterpart Breloom, which is what I'd usually compare Virizion with). Also, something I'd consider major, is that it hits all of them back for big damage. It's got a small and cute movepool, but just about enough options for offense (Close Combat, Leaf Blade, Stone Edge, Helping Hand). It's attack stat is still abysmal, but Life Orb somewhat remedies that.
Overall, while Virizion can't really deal with many pokemon, it does have the niche of being a fast Fighting and *physical*  Grass type  at the same time. Note that there almost no physical Grass types, sans Breloom. Not too good, not too bad, but a very curious option worth considering.

Virizion @ Life Orb

EVs: 4 HP / 236 Atk / 12 Def / 252 Spe
