The other pokemon on the team were heartbroken by Sony's loss, knowinf that that will happen to them too if they don't train for the battle with Grant. The crew took up battle in Route 10, where the pokemon Snubble joined as Pugga. The pokemon there were brutally powerful, with levels as high as the team's. The pokemon Sigilyph was particularly powerful, but payed out buckets of EXP for whoever fought it.
iBrowSenpai, the Amaura, was doing great, and quickly started meeting his quota thanks to his Type Advantage. He had this advantage over the whole route actually, except for the stray Houndour and Hawlucha, which Sharkeisha ran from at every encounter. Sharkeisha remembered from a book she read that a trainer caught Hawlucha that kept oddly having no fighting moves. So she put on her brave girl pants and sent iBrowSenpai out to battle the next Hawlucha she found.
Turns out the author of that book lost a fan, because Hawlucha can Learn fighting type moves under level 20, which Sharkeisha learned the hard way when iBrowSenpai got demolished in one hit.
Sharkeisha rested her face in her hands, talk about unexpected. Yet, what should you expect? It was a fighting type.
Pugga the Snubble was out next, and Hawlucha didn't seem to care when it one-shotted her too.
Sharkeisha was royally ticked, and Finished off Hawlucha with Butch's Psybeam.
She sighed.
"Man I hate coastal Kalos."

The grind to defeat Grant was tough, Sharkeisha knew his two pokemon were Max EV'd level 25 pokemon, so she needed to double the current levels of her pokemon if she wanted to defeat him.
Sony the 5th, due to his level being the lowest on the team, was being trained on Route 8 where the pokemon there were weak enough to farm but strong enough to prosper off of, and of course I mean the beach and not the cliffside.
"I think I'm getting sick of this swimsuit." A swimmer said before starting a battle with her Masquerain. The bug flying type was weak, only doing 37% of Sony's health with its strongest move, bubble.
"Sony, it may have hit you with a super effective move, but It can't even two shot you, you've got this!" Sharkeisha encouraged the Solrock, who was definitely persuaded.
The Masquerain used quick attack and dealt 1 insignificant damage while Sony dropped its health to red.
"All part of the plan" Sharksisha said as she insteucted Sony to finish it off. Masquerain was faster still, and went for a bubble again, this time it was a crit, which dealt enough damage to finish off Solrock.
"..." Sharkeisha was speechless, did another crit claim one of the pokemon she looked forward to using so much?
