Ah yes, my favorite spider, Spidops. Spidops is such a cool spider, being based off of a spy and having a great utility movepool of things such as Sticky Web, Spikes, Toxic Spikes, Circle Throw, Memento, and Taunt. In addition, it's Pokedex entry states that it takes out its prey before the prey notices. Pretty cool spider, right? If you're convinced Spidops is really good, stop reading. If you still need convincing, continue reading, but beware of any dissapoinment or whatever negative feelings you get from reading further when I told you not to.

Spidops sure made a First Impression on you, right? Being based off of a spy and being able to take out prey quickly, surely it has great offensive stats and a high speed stat, right? Right? In fact, Spidops is so powerful that its First Impression has a nice 37.5% chance to OHKO Plusle!! In fact, it can also 2HKO Luvdisc! How powerful indeed. Surely this means it can revenge kill the big scary threats such as Flygo-, I mean Trapinch running around in NU, right? Sticky Web and Spikes are used to pressure the threats in NU, which allows Spidops to make use of its fast speed stat of 35 to sneak up on Pokemon such as umm... Litwick? Spinarak? You gotta admit, being able to sneak up on these (non) releveant Pokemon in NU is mandatory if you don't want to get 6-0ed by Litwick. U-turn lets Spidos go back into its Pokeball, thinking it's done a very good job getting off Sticky Web AND all 3 layers of Spikes given its amazing 60/92/86 bulk, letting it survive the scary Choice Specs Luvdisc in Rain. In fact, here's some fun math!:
252+ SpA Choice Specs Luvdisc Surf vs. 248 HP / 8 SpD Spidops in Rain: 204-240 (63.1 - 74.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
See, you're guaranteed to get off all 3 layers of Spikes with Spidops, so no need to worry! Just don't look at the NU teambuilder to see what's really scary in NU. Plusle, Litwick, Luvdisc are all S+++ Rank there and haven't been quickbanned yet.
Still need convincing Spidops is good? Well, Spidops was so good in NU that it moved two tiers to its new tier of Zer-, er, umm, I mean UnderUsed. See, Spidos is a good spider who I'm not trying to cover up the dark truth behind this sad excuse of a Pokemon who isn't even good in ZU, where it resides. If you read the previous sentence, it means you read too far, and you're hopes and dreams of using Spidos in NU as an S++++++++ rank Pokemon are ruined, shattered, gone. I hope you learned your lesson on knowing when you shouldn't look too deep into your favorite Pokemon. They're your favorite Pokemon for a reason, no need to convince yourself they can't do the things you want them to do in competitive Pokemon.
