Hey guys! So, I started a Pokémon Shield Surpriselocké! You would know if you read my Pokémon Emerald Nuzlocké updates, but it seems no one is reading them. (D:) Just kidding, it is fine if you don’t want to read them. Anyway. If you don’t know what a Surpriselocké is, it is basically a Nuzlocké, but you surprise (or wonder trade for you SMUSUM players) trade your encounters away for completely random Pokémon. That is the base, but there are some rules I am applying to make the Playthrough harder.
- Level Cap Clause; If my Pokémon level up past the next gym leader/champion’s highest level Pokémon, I cannot use that Pokémon until I beat that said Gym Leader/Champion. If I receive a Pokémon higher then the Lv. Cap, I cannot use that Pokémon, until the conditions above are met.
- Battle Item Clause; I cannot use battle items, except held items, or outside of battle.
- Switching Pokémon Clause; I have to have the “Set” Battle Mode on at all times.
The “Permabox Clause; I cannot Permabox the first 6 Pokémon I put on my team, unless they die.” Will not be used on this run, because of how random the Pokémon encounters can be. Ok, I think that is clear, and if you want to read my Pokémon Emerald Nuzlocké updates, just check in my about me. And finally one more thing, I have gotten far into the run, so for the first update, things will be posted less of an update fashion, and more in a set organization. Ok, that is all, so let’s start!
- After choosing that I would play as Gloria for this run, I named myself “Gloria”.
- Leon stuff, picked my starter, saved a Wooloo, ran to Sonia’s place, ran to Sonia’s Grandma’s place, fought Hop, blah blah blah... (I will be listing the Pokémon I get after I finish my progress, because it would be tedious for my to list them mixed in with the events of my progress.)
- I changed my look, and travelled across the Wild Area, and made my way to Motostoke. But seriously, the beginning of SWSH is so annoying.
- Sonia told me how to do everything I already new how to do, Leon gave the the useless Miracle Seed, and I celebrated the Gym Ceremony after dealing with Team Yell. I was prepared to leave Motostoke, but Hop wanted ANOTHER BATTLE. He is definitely a stalker.
- After dealing with that mess, I made my way to Turrfield, and fought Bede, who is to much of what we want Rivals to be again. *Jams to Bede Battle Theme*
- I challenged Milo, but not before Hop runs into me again. Seriously...
- The fight went pretty well, I just spammed Max Flutterby.
- I made my way out of Turrfield, and fought Team Yell for a Bike.
- That Bike led me to my life goal. Seeing Rose in his swim trunks.
- After chasing down what’s gotta be the hottest character in all of Pokémon, (don’t give my that look, I know you think so too.) I fought her, and won pretty easily. Max Overgrowth all the way.
- I went and dined with Rose, which I realized we probably weren’t dressed the best for. Me, only wearing a top, no actual shirt, and Rose in his swim trunks.
- I went into the 2nd of the only to caves in Galar, which was cleverly named, “Galar Mine N.2”.
- I fought- jammed out to Bede’s theme agian.
- I was actually having a pleasant chat with 2 Team Yell Grunts, until Hop came along and made them mad, resulting in a battle, in which they made all his Pokemon faint, and left my in a 1v2.
- Oh yeah, did I mention that because of all the events, my Pokémon (except one) leveled up past the Lv. Cap, resulting in my not being able to use them in the Gym Fight against Kabu? Hop is genuinely one of my disliked Pokémon characters. To all those “Hop is underrated” people out there, I say NO.
- I end up getting one more surprise trade that is actually worth it, resulting in me having 2 Pokémon to fight the gym with.
- I remembered that I could get some encounters in the Isle of Armor, so I did, but only one of the, actually mattered.
- And I left of grinding to the Lv. Cap. Now, lemme tell you the Pokémon I have.
- Grook’s Boot/Grookey (Postwik) -> Safcon/Metapod (Weak)
- Bunchy Cheek/Skwovet (Route 1) -> Mimiqui/Mimikyu (Used, but one of the four of my team that became overleveled before Kabu.)
- Blippy/Blipbug (Route 2) -> Charizard (Overleveled)
- VeeveeVolley/Eevee (Meetup Spot) -> Hoothoot (Weak)
- Troll Haha/Combee (Rolling Fields) -> Cochignon/Piloswine (Overleveled)
- Weirdish/Oddish (East Lake Axewell) -> 0|=0|/Eevee (Used, but again, one of the four that became overleveled before Kabu.)
- Tiger-Dog/Growlithe (West Lake Axewell) -> PTN DE B+BAS/Wobbufet (Weak, can someone tell me what this nickname is?)
- Slowthing/Slowpoke (Wedgehurst) -> Tyrouge (Overleveled)
- Delacour/Gossifluer (Route 3) -> Momartik/Froslass (Overleveled)
- Minecart/Rolycoly (Galar Mine) -> Impidimp (Used, but the third of the four to become overleveled, and I kicked him off the team later.)
- CuteElektrik (Route 4) -> Ouistempo/Grookey (Hey, I got my starter back!)
- Hugger/Stuffle (Route 5) -> Dwebble (Overleveled)
- Light Bulb/Chimcho (Hulburry) -> Aron (Terrible Nature)
- Shellos (Galar Mine N. 2) -> Zigzagoon (Used, and was the only one of my team at the time to actually not become overleveled.)
- Drifloon (Watchtower Ruins) -> Sneavile (Overleveled)
- Ice Cream/Vannilite (North Lake Miloch) -> Nidoking (Overleveled)
- Swodowodo (Motostoke Outskirts) -> Dreepy (YES! Used)
- Huff Me/Jigglypuff (Fields of Honor) -> Scraggy (Overleveled)
- SmolBeedrill/Skorupi (Soothing Wetlands) -> Raboot (This is what I kicked Impidimp of the team for.)
- Pedeveni/Venipede (Forest of Focus) -> Quagsire (Overleveled)
So, going into the gym fight, I will have a Linoone, a Dreepy, and a Japanese Raboot. The rest of my team, being Mimikyu, Thwakey, and Eevee are Overleveled, thus not being able to use them.
