Um hey! Are you a vegan? I've seen a lot of your "Go Vegan" comments. I'm a transitioning vegan too.

In VGC series 10, the meta is still relatively raw and undeveloped but here’s a general gist of things:

Zacian was projected to be the most popular restricted, but a lot of people have focused on finding counterplay against it, resulting in people trying to use other restricteds. Fake out pressure is huge in this meta with Incineroar, Rillaboom, Gothitelle, Hitmontop, Mienshao, etc. This partially the reason why ghost types and inner focus Pokémon are really valuable this format.

Pokémon such as Incineroar, Volcorona, Calyrex-S, fake out pressure and Kyogre have been troubling Zacians and the currently most popular restricteds are Calyrex-S, Xerneas, Kyogre and still Zacian.

Yveltal has become an interesting pick as a result of the increasing popularity of Yveltal, but Xerneas is very difficult to handle without restricted steel types. The typical team composition for each team archetype is:

Xerneas/Incineroar/Rillaboom/Volcorona

Calyrex-S/Indeedee/Incineroar/Mienshao

Zacian/Gothitelle/Urshifu/Incineroar

Kyogre/Tornadus/Tsareena

The meta is still in its early stages but I feel like it won’t change too much. It’s very difficult to use restricteds outside of these top 4 or else they become obliterated. I would personally try and focus on building around non-restricteds who perform well against Restricteds myself and covering up the gaps with your restricted Pokémon.
