Gen V

Snorlax (M) @ Chesto Berry

Trait: Thick Fat

EVs: 252 HP / 128 Atk / 128 SDef

Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)

  • Curse
  • Crunch
  • Rest
  • Double-Edge

A classic set. Set up Curse a whole ton, which makes up for the lower Defense stat, while also giving it nice Attack. Then Rest off your damage, now it'll be harder to get damaged since you've Cursed up. Chesto Berry heals you right away. Double-Edge is high powered STAB, and you can always heal off the damage with Rest. Crunch is there to hit Ghost types. Thick Fat is the most useful ability, as it provides protection against Fire and Ice. Immunity isn't so useful seeing as you can remove Poison anyways with Rest. EVs give you a nice attack, while also making you hard to deal damage to, especially after you've raised your defense with Curse.

Gen V Set for Munchlax

Munchlax (M) @ Eviolite

Trait: Thick Fat

EVs: 124 HP / 136 Def / 248 SDef

Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)

  • Toxic
  • Curse
  • Return
  • Fire Punch/Earthquake

Toxic poisons the foe. Curse up like Snorlax, and you are even more of a defensive force, and can now attack. Return provides STAb, while Fire Punch is used to take down the Steel types who are immune to Toxic and resist Return. Earthquake hits these Steel types with more power, while also hitting Poison types for super-effective damage. However, running Earthquake over Fire Punch will leave you completely unable to do anything against Gengar. Also, Earthquake will leave you doing minimal damage against the likes of Skarmory and Bronzong, as well as Air Ballooners, while all you have to worry about with Fire Punch is Heatran, who is also running Air Balloon most of the time. However, if you feel like taking risks and doing more damage, you can use Earthquake, but I consider Fire Punch the attack best used so you aren't completely walled by a larger number of Pokemon. Thick Fat is once again the most useful ability, and the EVs give you max dfensive powers.

Hey Trachy, I know you said to only comment if I REALLY thought something was a better idea.

But why not use Earthquake over Fire punch?

For a more powerful counter to Rock and Steel which both resist return, And its super affective Agaisn't Both types that resist Toxic.
A valid point, and one I should have addressed in my explanation. The answer is mainly Gengar, but is also Pokemon like Skarmory, Bronzong, and Air Ballooners. A good point though, and I will make Earthquake an option if you feel risky.

Snorlax (M) @ Leftovers

Role: Tank
Trait: Immunity
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Atk / 96 Def
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

Thunder Punch + Ice Punch Makes him like a Bolt Beamer! Now with Body Slam, He's like a Tankish Physical Porgon-Z! Curse for Setting up.

annoying troll set (don't take it seriously)

Snorlax @ Sitrus Berry
Trait: Immunity
EV's:252 HP: 128 defense 128 Special Defense
Nature: Impish
- Curse
- Substitute
- Recycle
- Body Slam

Start by using Substitute. Set up Curse behind the sub. keep recycling your Sitrus Berry to get healed a ton. Spam body Slam to KO stuff with STAB and curse boost and for the paralysis. Immunity is so you can't be Killed by toxic. Like I said, this is a troll set so don't take it seriously.

by
Hahahah it isn’t THAT bad but it’s still a great troll set love it.
Lol good set but you should make a legitimate one not a troll set
Why does no one have belly drum
2 votes

Snorlax @Figy Berry
Ability: Gluttony
EVs: 252 HP, 252 Atk, 4 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Belly Drum
- Earthquake
- Ice Punch
- Body Slam

Use Belly Drum and it will max your attack, at the cost of half your HP. But, with the Figy Berry and Gluttony as your ability, you will heal all the damage done to you by Belly Drum.

Full HP and max attack? You are unstoppable.

Gen 2 OU sets

Snorlax @ Leftovers / Mint Berry
Ability: Doesn't exist

  • Curse
  • Double-Edge
  • Flamethrower / Fire Blast
  • Earthquake / Rest

Curse to set up. Double-Edge is STAB, Flamethrower is mainly for Skarmory and Forretress as well as other Specially defensive Steels. Earthquake for the rocks Rhydon, Golem, and Tyranitar, as well as Raikou. Raikou and Tyranitar are important since they both have Roar and can phaze Snorlax out, making all that swearing useless. Rest to heal off any damage taken while using Curse, and to also heal off Double-Edge damage.

Snorlax @ Leftovers / Mint Berry
Ability: Doesn't exist

  • Belly Drum
  • Rest
  • Sleep Talk / Flamethrower
  • Double-Edge

You know the drill.

Double/Triple Battle

Snorlax (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Rock Slide
- Selfdestruct
- Earthquake
- Crunch

What the hell. It gets STAB. So I might as well use SD. Rock Slide and Earthquake hit multiple foes. Crunch takes down Ghost types.

Hi! Long-time-no-see guys and another wonderful--amazing set has appeared on Snorlax, and let's see how it works...
Snorlax-Gmax @ Custap Berry
Ability: Gluttony
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 SpD
Adamant Nature
- Belly Drum
- Body Slam
- Iron Head
- Fire Punch
This set was AMAZING, it could survive hits from psychical sweepers and do a successful belly drum, and after you GMAX it and use G-Max Replenish, the berry will keep restore and restore in a high chance (50%). Later you could sweep with only this Pokemon, yeah, I'm not freaken kidding you.

+6 252+ Atk Snorlax-Gmax Body Slam vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Toxapex: 288-340 (94.7 - 111.8%) -- 68.8% chance to OHKO

Possible damage amounts: (288, 292, 295, 298, 303, 306, 309, 312, 316, 319, 322, 325, 330, 333, 336, 340)

See? Even the world's best defensive stat was not able to avoid this powerful, superb set, now see what I mean? No one could don't agree about this, am I right? Lol.

R.I.P TO THE ONES WHO DONT EVER SEE THIS SET LOL

by
The only gen 8 format where you can use Dynamax is AG and National Dex AG. Both of these formats are riddled not only with strong physical attacks, but also strong fighting attacks. Snorlax already has a very hard time not being 2HKOed or flat-out OHKOed by Close Combat from Aegislash, Cobalion, Conkeldurr, Doublade, Haxorus, Incineroar, Lycanroc-Dusk and Hawlucha and Superpower from Darmanitan, mixed Hydreigon, Mamoswine, the list just goes on and on. If you that that was bad, OU is a absolute nightmare for Snorlax, as as it struggles to keep up with Urshifu, Rillaboom, and other threats that often carry Fighting-type moves.

"Later you could sweep with only this Pokemon, yeah, I'm not freaken kidding you." A sweeper by definition is a Pokemon who is fast and strong. Snorlax has base 30 speed, and yeah in theory it can sweep for 3 turns, but what happens after that? Also you probably shouldn't use Toxapex as an example, since Snorlax needs set up to work or it is pretty useless (unless Choice Banded), so Toxapex can just Haze and make Snorlax waste its HP stat and a berry.
@SSuperiority Custap Berry does exists in Gen 8.
strange. Was it readded in crown tundra or something? Pre-crown tundra i checked on AG for my forretress and it says it doesn't exist in gen 8
Possibly, and the teambuilder says it's legal so....

I really like this set on Snorlax:

Snorlax @ Assault Vest
Ability: Thick Fat
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 168 HP / 176 Atk / 164 SpD
Brave Nature
- Body Slam
- Zen Headbutt
- Darkest Lariat
- High Horsepower

Body Slam is STAB. Zen Headbutt is for Fighting types. Darkest Lariat is for hitting Ghost types with super-effective damage. High Horsepower hits both rock and steel types super-effectively.

Was waiting for someone to post a set like this. Seems like it could be really solid against special sweepers.

Gen 8 NU

Snorlax @ Choice Band
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 80 HP / 252 Atk / 176 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Double-Edge
- Darkest Lariat
- Earthquake
- Heat Crash

Probably similar to the other Choice Band sets on here. Choice Band Snorlax is used as a lure in NU to catch Pokemon expecting the CurseLax set off guard. Double Edge is a powerful STAB move and hits almost everything for nuetral damage. Darkest Lariat provides coverage against ghost types and also allows you to get past IronPress Bronzong sets. Earthquake allows you not to be walled by Diancie and also allows you to deal super effective damage to Copperajah and Dragalge. Heat Crash allows you to OHKO Escavalier. The speed EVs on Choice Band Snorlax are customizable, but I chose 176 Speed EVs to get the jump on Assault Vest Copperajah.

Gen 8 NU

Snorlax @ Leftovers / Chesto Berry
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 12 HP / 244 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
- Heavy Slam
- Darkest Lariat
- Curse
- Rest

Snorlax has been freed from NUBL, so here is a set for it. It's basically the RU Smogon set, but the two attacking moves are different. This Curse + Rest set does not have a STAB move. Let me explain why. With Heavy Slam, you aren't struggling to break through Sylveon and especially Diancie. Darkest Lariat is here so you can deal with ghost types, and going past defense boosts from IronPress Bronzong and Mudsdale is nice. Curse is to setup and allow you to tank physical hits better and hit hard once you get a few boosts. Rest is for healing. You can use Chesto Berry instead of Leftovers if you want a free turn of Rest recovery without having to deal with the two passive turns during Rest.

Here's an moveset that never struggles to annoy:
Snorlax (M)
Item: Chesto Berry
Ability: Immunity (Nullifies Toxic, the most common and most annoying status condition)

Rest (For the heals)
Yawn (To be able to spam attack with no retaliation)
Recycle (For infinite Chesto Berries, for infinite healing)
Body Slam (For spamming sleeping opponents)
EVs:
4 HP (Barely even matters)
252 Attack (Makes Body Slam a very, very destructive attack)
252+ Defense (Just to tank contact moves)
- Special Attack (None of the attacks in this moveset use this stat)
A little in-depth analysis:
A Fighting-type will absolutely tear this moveset apart, because of super-effectiveness, as will a Ghost-type, because it nullifies the Yawn + Body Spam combo. Your best option is to increase his defence, then use that to survive a Fighting-type attack and then use Yawn. If you get in trouble, use Rest and wake up instantly, then the following turn use Recycle.

Snorlax@chesto berry
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP, 126 Sp Def, 126 Def
Nature: anything that boosts a defense but doesn't lower attack, or adamant
Move set:
Giga Impact/Double edge
Rest
Recycle
Stockpile.

Use stockpile to gain huge defenses, rest to heal (the Chesto berry will immediately wake you up), recycle to regain the Chesto berry, and any powerful stab move to do damage. An alternative to stockpile is curse, but I prefer stockpile because it boosts both defenses, and once you get up enough stockpiles (which is your main early game mission with this set) there is no real rush to do damage, since you can just rest off anything done to you. I find that this set is most effective in doubles with a dual screen and/or follow me user.

Here's an interesting one to think about.
Snorlax(M) @ leftovers
Trait: immunity
EVs: HP 252/ DEF 126/ SDef 126
Adamant nature
- Belly Drum
- Heavy Slam
- Rest
- Sleep talk

Just being different here but it's definitely effective. Lead with belly drum take the first hit, follow with rest. Sleep talk is hit or miss but getting heavy slam off is a OHKO to mostly everything 700lbs and under. Then just rest and slam your way out. It'll definitely upset some people.

Snorlax(F/M)
ability: Thick fat (its ability really doesn't matter)
EVs: 252Hp / 252SDef / Atk6
Nature Adamant (+Atk, -SpAtk)
-Belly Drum
-Earthquake
-Zen headbutt
-Body Slam
well, any moves should be fine as long as you have belly drum. Especially in sun and moon, when z power with belly drum restores user's hp with the additional effect. My snorlax is more of a tank than a combat

Snorlax @ Figy Berry
Ability: Gluttony
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SDef
Adamant Nature
- Belly Drum
- Recycle
- Earthquake
- Body slam

Belly drum to max attack figy berry will kick in because of gluttony restoring health and won't cause confusion because of nature. Recycle to get another berry. Earthquake and body slam to do big damage

Snorlax @ Chesto Berry
Trait: Immunity
EVs: 252 Attack / 252 SDef
Adamant (+Atk, -SAtk) , Brave (+Atk, -Spd) , Careful (+SDef, -SAtk)

  • Curse/Belly Drum
  • Rest
  • Return/Double Edge
  • Heavy Slam

Immunity: Prevents toxic users
Curse: For high def and attack or belly drum to instantly max attack
Rest: Heal up and chesto berry for waking up
Return: With high friendship +STAB = insane power along with snorlax's insane attack
Heavy Slam: Gotta do somethin' with that 400 kg

OR

Munchlax @ Eviolite
Trait: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 SDef / 252 Attack
Adamant (+Atk, -SAtk) , Brave (+Atk, -Spd) , Careful (+SDef, -SAtk)

  • Stockpile
  • Swallow
  • Belly Drum
  • Return

Stockpile: +SDef and supports Swallow
Swallow: Works well to heal with Stockpile
Belly Drum: Maxes out Attack
Return: High Damage with high friendship, STAB, physical attack effected by belly drum

Gen VII Curselax

Careful Nature
Ability: Gluttony
252 HP, 6 Def, 252 Sp. Def
Item: Aquav/Ipapa/Mago/Figy Berry

  • Recycle
  • Curse
  • Return
  • Earthquake/Fire Punch/Crunch

The main thing you need to know: The four berries above heal a Pokemon for half their health as of gen 7, provided it's at 25% HP or less (Wiki Berry does this too, but it confuses Snorlax). With the ability Gluttony, this changes so that the berries are consumed at 50% HP instead of 25% HP. The move Recycle allows Snorlax to retrieve the berry once it has been consumed, allowing it to heal itself continuously; It gets on-demand recovery when it's at 50% HP or less, and when it's above 50% HP, it can prepare for when it reaches a low amount of health. Otherwise, Curse is what Snorlax is famous for.

Curse up using your massive Sp. Defense to take any (Non-fighting) hit your opponent throws at you, but even if you're setting up against a physical attacker, chances are you're still going to be able to set up. Even if your opponent is using a powerful physical attacker, your berry's healing will give you plenty of room to build up your defense stat and reduce the damage to manageable levels. Use Recycle as you would a move like Roost or Recover. Return is your best STAB option, and Earthquake is your most straightforward coverage option.

Royal TS (Snorlax) (M) @ Chesto Berry
Ability: Immunity
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Careful Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Earthquake
- Rest
- Return
- Belly Drum

Hope this helps.

So, this is a different set, but will work

Snorlax
Abbility: Gluttony
Item: Aguav berry
Docile nature
252 hp, 124 attack, 50 Sp.def 74 def
Moves:

High Horsepower
Facade
Recycle
Curse

So now let me explain the set:
Since snorlax has no recovery and its very bulky, Recycle will be a good choice with aguav berry. also, its ability is gluttony, that means aguav berry will be used after snorlax has half hp. Curse cause snorlax has bad defense, its very good. Facade cause we cant really deal with status, so its a good option to surprise toxic/burn users. High horsepower has a very "High" base power so it will hit very hard with a curse up. And also, in doubles trick room will be perfect for this guy.
