Well, I found a new love for this guy, seeing what he can do with all his bulk and powar. This is what I have found to be one of his best rain sets for OU.

Shaymin @ Life Orb
Shaymin
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 232 HP / 252 SpA / 24 Spe
Modest Nature
- Rest
- Seed Flare
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- Earth Power

Hard times with Rotom-W ruining your rain teams all the time? Tired of using the same old stuff? Well, Shaymin approves of being the new member in your team. This guy is amazing, being able to absorb any statuses, Rest it off, and come back with full HP and completely healthy, thanks to Natural Cure. Seed Flare it STAB, and just a great move in general. Being able to OHKO anything weak to it, Shaymin is a force that should not be taken lightly. Hell, here's some proof on how much this little thing can do to one of the most bulky Pokemons around...

252SpAtk Life Orb Shaymin (+SAtk) Seed Flare in Sand vs 252HP/252SpDef Leftovers Tyranitar (+SpDef): 55% - 65% (224 - 266 HP). Guaranteed 2HKO. <--- Scary stuff

HP Ice the replacement of HP Fire, since we're in rain, and thus weakening our (inb4 pun) fire power.Being able to hit stuff like Thunderus-T, Dragonite/Salamence, Lati@s, who all resist our STAB and are immune to our other coverage move, HP Ice falls in perfectly and lets you destroy them while the opponent tries to set up or send a hit your way, which with this EV spread, you can take with some ease. Finally, we come down to Earth Power, which helps use take down scary Fire types, and hurt steel types like no one's business.

In conclusion, this guy is amazing, though walled by Blissey/Chansey, and a bit too slow for the OU enviornment. Thunder Wave support and a physical sweeper are of most help to this fella, and let's him show full potential.

Shaymin @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 58 Def / 200 SpA
Modest Nature
- Seed Flare
- Leech Seed
- Toxic
- Synthesis / Substitute

Seed-flare is STAB. Leech-seed is healing and stalling. Toxic is for stalling. Synthesis is for healing while Substitute would be for more stalling.

This set works wonders in ubers, taking out certain defensive threats to teams by stalling them and then, if substitute is still up, usually being able to spread damage around and kill an enemy if not more.

Shaymin-Sky @ Leftovers
Shaymin
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Seed Flare
- Air Slash
- Leech Seed
- Substitute

Seed Flare with Serene Grace has a great sp def lower chance and is already quite powerful. Air slash has an amazing chance to flinch. Substitute and leech seed make a great stalling combo while you flinch and weaken your enemies.

You should put 252 EVs in HP so you can make 101 subs.

Gen 8 BDSP UU

Shaymin @ Choice Specs
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Seed Flare
- Air Slash
- Psychic
- Healing Wish

Choice Specs Shaymin is a threatening wallbreaker in BDSP UU thanks to Seed Flare and its speed being a max of 328. Seed Flare is Shaymin's STAB move as well as being the main move you use. Even though Seed Flare has only 8 PP and an accuracy of 90, having the 40% special defense drop by two stages, a high base power of 140, and being boosted by Choice Specs can make Seed Flare dangerous to switch into. Air Slash provides coverage against Pokemon like Heracross and Yanmega. Psychic is used for Pokemon such as Tentacruel and Roserade. Healing Wish is useful to provide support for your teammates, as you could give a Pokemon a second chance to break / weaken opposing Pokemon or a weakened defensive Pokemon so that can be able to wall again during a game.

Shaymin @ Life Orb
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Seed Flare
- Earth Power
- Hidden Power [Fire] / Hidden Power [Ice]
- Rest

Shaymin is a great Pokemon and is very underrated in today's metagame. Shaymin is a serious check to Jellicent with a Special Defense killing Seed Flare. Earth Power can punish Heatran coming in to check it. HP Fire handles Ferrothorn and others while Ice deals with Gliscor and Landorus. Rest couples with Natural Cure so Shaymin gets very reliable recovery.

Shaymin-Sky @ Razor Fang
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 24 HP / 244 SpA / 240 Spe
Modest Nature
- Energy Ball
- Seed Flare
- Earth Power
- Air Slash

Energy ball for a basic grass attack with 100% accuracy. Seed Flare for tougher opponents. Earth Power to nail Fire, Posion Rock, Steel, and Electric Types. Air slash with razor fang and serene grace means an almost guaranteed flinch. Plus flying does normal damage to a lot of Pokemon. Modest nature to ensure the strongest special attack without any other stats except attack being lowered.
Shaymin sky forme is my favorite Pokemon and I defeated level 100 Arceus, Rayquaza, Darkrai, Giratina, and all the legendary birds with Shaymin alone. The stats above are from my ultimate Shaymin. Nobody gives this legendary enough credit and that disappoints me. Long live the sky warrior.

Nice set man!
The only thing I would change is I would put giga drain instead of energy ball just for some healing.
Very nice set. however, the only thing I would say that Razor Fang doesn't stack, so the chances remain 60%, though its still a good flinch rate. Also, as Shaymin has low Def and Sp. Def, It needs moves like Giga Drain to Recover Hp. But this is still a very good set. Well done!

Here's the Sky Shaymin set I Run:

Shaymin-Sky @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Psychic
- Air Slash
- Seed Flare
- Earth Power

Explanation: Simular to Flinch ScarfKiss. You need max Speed to Outspeed fast Electric types like Tapu Koko and Jolteon that usually tend to carry Hidden Power (Ice). Psychic Covers its Poison type Weakness along with the Special Defense Chance drop with Serene Grace. Air Slash is STAB along with a 60% Chance to Flinch with Serene Grace. Seed Flare is also STAB with the same effect as Earth Power and Psychic. Earth Power hits Electric and Steel types that can possibly wall Shaymin.

SKY SHAYMIN MOVESET

Shaymin-Sky @ Focus Sash / Life Orb
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 6 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid / Modest Nature
- Seed Flare
- Air Slash
- Dazzling Gleam / Toxic / Psychic
- Giga Drain

-Seed Flare; STAB, amazing power and has a 40% chance of lowering the target's Special Defense by two stages, goes great with the ability and gets rid of water, ground and rock types.

-Air Slash: STAB, good power, and has a 30% chance of causing the target to flinch, also good with the ability ALSO GET OUT OF HERE OTHER GRASS TYPES, FIGHTING TYPES AND BUG TYPES!.

-Dazzling Gleam/Toxic/Psychic: Toxic poison some Pokemon, Dazzling Gleam to get rid of Dark types and Ghost types.
Or you can go for Psychic to get rid of Fighting and Poison and has a 10% chance of lowering the target's Special Defense by one stage which goes GREAT with the Ability.

-Giga Drain: STAB and to get some or a lot of health back.

Lol, this comment is rlly REALLY outdated but people who come across this question can read the comments and maybe choose some for their own shaymin, Good luck

Ok this Shaymin is similar in movepool to others, but here's mine.
Note that Sky Shaymin only is this form from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM on your 3DS time, as it uses the systems' time.

Shaymin (Sky Form) @ Big Root / Assault Vest / Leftovers
Ability: Serene Grace
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 31/31/31/31/31/31 (Hidden Power Dark) or 31/0/31/31/31/31 (I am not sure what this IV spread's Hidden Power type is, but I assume it is Dragon.)
- Giga Drain
- Air Slash
- Earth Power
- Psychic

  • Giga Drain: If using Big Root, to heal some HP. Big Root causes HP draining moves to have a bit more power, causing Shaymin to recover more HP.
  • Air Slash: 60% flinch chance with Serene Grace.
  • Earth Power: 20% chance to lower the opposing Pokemon's Sp. Def with Serene Grace, deals with Electric types. (Note Shaymin can only learn this move through certain move tutors. It can't learn this move if in Sky Form. Have its form be ordinary, (if in sky form, go to a PC box and place it in the box and its form will turn back to normal) and go to the move tutors in ORAS of USUM.)
  • Psychic: To deal with Poison types and a 20% chance of lowering the target Pokemon's Sp. Def. Or, you can use Dazzling Gleam, a Fairy type move, as a fourth move.

...or Seed Flare for 80% for opponent to have their SpD Harshly Lowered (-2 stages), unless the target Pokemon has Sap Sipper...

Position: First Line - Defense and Offense
Shaymin @ Lum Berry
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 128 Def / 252 SpA / 128 SpD
Modest Nature
- Air Slash
- Magical Leaf
- Dazzling Gleam
- Synthesis

  • Air Slash ( 60% flinch with Serene Grace)
  • Magical Leaf ( Works better than Energy Ball. Also, it works like Aura Sphere)
  • Dazzling Gleam ( For Mega charizard x. LoL )
  • Synthesis

Physical set, because why not

Shaymin @ Muscle Band / Normalium Z
Ability: Natural Cure / Serene Grace
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Seed Bomb
- Quick Attack / Swords Dance
- Zen Headbutt / Swords Dance
- Last Resort

  • Seed Bomb (basic Grass stab)
  • Quick Attack/Swords Dance (priority or set up)
  • Zen Headbutt / Swords Dance (your only non-normal coverage or set up)
  • Last Resort (can be a nuke with Normalium Z)

Use this set if you want to surprise someone, although I wouldn’t suggest it.

Gen 8 BDSP UU

Shaymin @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Substitute
- Leech Seed
- Seed Flare
- Air Slash / Psychic

I know a there are a ton of SubSeed sets on this thread, but I wanted to post this variant. Substitute lets you scout opposing Pokemon and should be used when you're up against a passive Pokemon or you predict a Pokemon switching in. Leech Seed lets you wear down Pokemon switching in. Seed Flare is used as the STAB move since the -2 Special Defense effect can make opposing Pokemon switch out, allowing you to use Leech Seed when forcing a switch. Air Slash is used for Heracross and Yanmega, as Yanmega's Bug Buzz bypasses Shaymin's Substitute. Psychic lets you deal super effective damage to Tentacruel and Roserade.

This set uses max HP to live hits such as a +2 Ice Beam from Blastoise. Max Speed is used to have the speed to pull the set off more than once. A spread of 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe with Timid nature also works. Be aware of Crobat, as Crobat can easily bypass this set with its Ability Infiltrator.

Gen 9 NU Offensive

Shaymin @ Covert Cloak
Ability: Natural Cure
Tera Type: Flying
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Seed Flare
- Air Slash
- Earth Power
- Synthesis / Rest

Shaymin is in NU at the time of this post, so here is a set for it. Despite being in NU, Shaymin doesn't seem to be broken in the tier due to Goodra existing. Seed Flare is used for Shaymin's Grass STAB due to the 40% chance to lower the Special Defense of opposing Pokemon by two stages, making most Pokemon not wanting to switch into that move. Air Slash is a nice coverage move that hits Flying- and Grass-types such as Heracross, Scyther, Arboliva, and opposing Shaymin super effectively. Earth Power is used to hit Steel-, Fire, and Poison-types such Tauros-Paldea-Blaze, Toxicroak, Salazzle, Copperajah, Magneton, and Hisuian Qwilfish super effectively. Synthesis is used to give Shaymin reliable recovery. You could use Rest since Shaymin has Natural Cure, but keep in mind you'll have to switch Shaymin out afterwards. Covert Cloak is used for the item as a tech to let Shaymin switch into an opposing Shaymin's Seed Flare without worrying about the Special Defense drop. Tera Flying is used to make Air Slash a STAB move so it can be stronger.

Play Rough is an option to be used as a coverage move for Goodra. The reason you should use Play Rough over Dazzling Gleam is because Play Rough does more damage to Goodra than Dazzling Gleam, as shown in these calcs:

0- Atk Shaymin Play Rough vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Goodra: 158-186 (49.2 - 57.9%) -- 94.9% chance to 2HKO

252 SpA Shaymin Dazzling Gleam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Goodra: 102-122 (31.7 - 38%) -- 92.7% chance to 3HKO

Even if you were to use Life Orb on Shaymin, Play Rough does more than Dazzling Gleam:

0- Atk Life Orb Shaymin Play Rough vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Goodra: 205-242 (63.8 - 75.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 SpA Life Orb Shaymin Dazzling Gleam vs. 0 HP / 4 SpD Goodra: 133-159 (41.4 - 49.5%) -- guaranteed 3HKO

Gen 9 NU Swords Dance

Shaymin @ Leftovers / Life Orb / Loaded Dice
Ability: Natural Cure
Tera Type: Ground / Fire
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Seed Bomb / Bullet Seed
- Play Rough
- Tera Blast

If you feel like using Swords Dance Shaymin in NU, here you go. Swords Dance boosting Shaymin's attack can let it potentially become a wincon. Seed Bomb is Shaymin's powerful STAB if you're not using Loaded Dice as the item. If you use Loaded Dice as the item, then use Bullet Seed since Loaded Dice would make Bullet Seed essentially a 100 BP or 125 BP STAB move. Play Rough is a useful coverage move against Pokemon such as Goodra, Hariyama, Heracross, and Altaria. Tera Blast is a nice coverage move that can let Shaymin beat things with the right Tera. With Tera Ground, Tera Blast can hit Pokemon such as Toxicroak, Salazzle, Copperajah, Coalossal, and Magneton super effectively. If you use Tera Fire, Shaymin can hit Orthworm and Levitate Bronzong super effectively. Leftovers gives Shaymin some HP recovery each turn. Life Orb can be used to boost the power of Shaymin's attacks. Loaded Dice should only be used if you use Bullet Seed for the Grass STAB.
