In BW2 are items lost after in game battles?

Question

For BW2 I was planning on having my Relunclius hold a sticky barb (magic coat) and was wondering if say for example Iris' Archeops attacked me with a move and sticky barb got activated onto it. Basically, would I get my sticky barb back if it attached to another Pokemon? Thanks.

No, they are not lost; you keep items.

I just tested this in my White 2 copy. I had my Serperior hold a Sticky Barb, and a Basculin used Tackle on him, transferring the Sticky Barb. The next turn he used Leaf Blade and killed the Basculin. Serperior still had the Sticky Barb when I checked after the battle.
