Is Eviolite Chansey really better than Blissey?

Question

So I was playing in OU against this guy with a rain team,and I was losing, then Chansey saved the day. This battle replay is kinda long but, I promise you, you would swear that I am gonna lose, but let's just see if Eviolite Chansey really is better than Blissey. After watching the replay, could you tell me which is better-Chansey or Blissey? Or was this battle just luck?

The primary reason Chansey is used over Blissey is that it can use Eviolite, boosting its already incredible Special Defense even higher. It also helps out that measly Defense stat a little.

Eviolite Chansey has higher defenses than Blissey can have, and it can do everything Blissey can as well.

Therefore, the primary reason Chansey is considered better than Blissey is because it can use Eviolite.

Hi, I'd like to note that blissey is getting some popularity. It recently went up to OU due primarily to heavy duty boots. The ability to avoid hazard chip for an entire match when the primary role of chansey/blissey is to switch in to sponge special attacks is excellent. Eviolite Blissey is still bulkier and both have instant recovery in soft boiled anyways, but one isn't really that much better than the other anymore.

That's fair; Blissey has been seeing a bit more usage, from what I've noticed. I personally prefer Eviolite Chansey, but both are quite close to each other in terms of viability.

Actually, Blissey was better than Chansey in some ways.
1.Item-Wise
So, Chansey's only common use was Eviolite, but it could get rid by Knock off and opponent will kill it easily, but Blissey? It could access with Heavy-Duty Boots, Leftovers and gives it good recovery each turn and could even paired with Live Orb due to that it could use Serene Grace + Tri-Attack and which was common in china

2. Stat-wise
Chansey got lame speed and Blissey's speed could outspeed some Pokemon such as 0 Spe Crawduant and has a faster chance to recovery from all those stabs from it, and chansey's speed was so slow that makes it can't Stuat others and Recover Faster. Blissy instead for being wall,could also be a Tank, due to its Specisl Attack wasn't too low and could paired with Serene Grace + Tri-Attack which was much more better than Chansey who could only be a Tank.

Eviolite Chansey will get 7 base defense while Blissey has 10 base defense and higher base HP than Chansey. And the answer is: Blissey is better than Eviolite Chansey.

Eviolite raises the defense stat you see in the summary screen, which includes levels and EVs. It doesn't directly raise the base stat.
