If the user gets damaged in a Double Battle by an opponent, will Revenge double if you aim for the other opponent?

OK, so I have a Hitmontop that has bad speed and I wanna use in battling and I was thinking of giving it some moves like Revenge in Double Battles.

But, I was wondering this: What if Opponent 1 attacks Hitmontop and then Hitmontop uses Revenge on Opponent 2?

Will the base power of Revenge still double, or will it stay the same?

If the user is attacked, revenge gets the damage boost, regardless of which target is selected.
