If you have a good competitive moveset for Silvally, post an answer below and upvote the best ones. Movesets for its pre-evolutions, if any, can also be shared on this thread.

Be sure to include full set details in your post, e.g. items, abilities, natures and EVs. Some detail, including the intended game mode for your set, is also appreciated. Access the full list of guidelines here.

Silvally Pokédex and learnset for reference.

I think you should also add a link to Type: Null's Pokedex.

Type: Null @ Eviolite
Ability: Battle Armor
Happiness: 0
EVs: 252 HP / 184 Def / 72 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Frustration
- Payback
- Rest
- Sleep Talk

I haven't actually played competitive SM but it seems like Silvally has a hard time offensively and eviolite Type: Null is better defensively, so that's what I'm going with here. Honestly, though, it still doesn't seem that good. It has a pretty bad movepool and no recovery other than rest. It still is really bulky, though, and with these EVs adamant Buzzwole's Brick Break is a 3HKO (do people even run adamant Buzzwole?).

isnt this a good moveset for silvally? not evolite type:null
"Note: Type: Null movesets are also valid here." Pre-evolotions are sometimes allowed too so we won't have to make 806 moveset questions.

Silvally

Silvally @ Ghost Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe (or whatever you want to put it on)
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- X-Scissor
- Multi-Attack
- Crunch / Swords Dance
- U-turn

  • X-Scissor (to deal with Dark types)
  • Multi-Attack (STAB)
  • Crunch / Swords Dance (for Ghost Types, along with Multi-Attack / boosting Attack)
  • U-turn (for switching / good damage)

I'm not one for making movesets, or any of this stuff. But I thought maybe this would be helpful to some people if they are hoping for a typed Silvally. Please correct me if I am wrong anywhere!

Silvally @ Life Orb
Ability: RKS System
EVs : 86 Atk / 170 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid / Jolly Nature
- Explosion / Double Edge
- Flamethrower
- Ice Beam
- Parting Shot / Heal Block

This set is designed for opponents like Landorus or Ferrothorn which can be dealt with Flamethrower and Ice Beam. Explosion gains STAB and can deal damage that could OHKO types that does not resist normal attacks, providing support for you team members. While Double Edge prevents fainting like Explosion and also does LOTS OF DAMAGE. Heal Block prevents walls like Toxapex from recovering. Parting Shot is useful for switching out and lowering attacks of opponents. The EV spread is necessary for boosting the attacks and Speed of Silvally. Life Orb always gives great boost to the attacks, allowing Silvally to do more damage.

Silvally can't learn Taunt, unfortunately.
I read from the Bulbapedia learnset actually that it learns Taunt. Was it an error? I'm not too sure.
My game said it wasn't able to learn Taunt, and neither Bulbapedia nor this website list Taunt as a learnable Move for it, so I'd assume it was wrong.
Oh ok, thanks. Maybe it was just an error.
Eh. Doesn't matter as long as it's fixed, right? Now my OCD can let me up-vote this set. I'll be using it, albeit with a Naive Nature. Thanks.
Why would you want to make your silvally explode?! You want it to die *****?! it deserves a better trainer than you!!!!
with sword and shield out, multi-attack has an increased base power to 120, matching the power of double-edge. you can probably substitute double-edge for multi-attack, as it will not give you recoil and will match whatever type you go for
You should probably use Multi-Attack - it's the same power as Double-Edge and doesn't do recoil, and I don't think Explosion is great in competitive - any Rock/Steel types wall it.
Multi atrack was 80 power at the time I think
In Gen 7, it was 90BP.

Silvally @ Ghost Memory (GM) / Electric Memory (EM) / Life Orb (LO)
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 20 HP / 252 Atk / 236 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Multi-Attack / Return
- Flame Charge
- X-Scissor / Ice Fang / Iron Head

  • Swords Dance
  • Multi-Attack / Return (LO)
  • Flame Charge
  • X-Scissor (GM) / Ice Fang (EM) / Iron Head (LO)

It's pretty much a steep battle for every Silvally set holding a memory due to the fact that Silvally is basically going into battle without a functional item or ability. A BST of 570 might be good but Base 95 Attack/Speed is not; It leads to the fact that RKS Memory Silvally relies more on surprise factor than actually being able to hold its own niche.

An Adamant Nature should be standard for all RKS Memory Silvally to help patch that unimpressive attack stat (Seriously, don't do Jolly, I promise you'll be disappointed if you do). With Adamant, Swords Dance is enough to OHKO most Pokemon that aren't trying to be walls, and you'll most likely naturally outspeed anything that is. Flame Charge lets you boost your speed, since without it most foes with speed EVs are going to outpace you (Even if you did use Jolly--Again 95 Speed isn't that great). You don't need to put in more than 236 Speed EVs since after that there's nothing more you'll be able to outpace--You beat Pokemon with 145 Base Speed such as Mega Sceptile and Mega Beedrill. As for which type you're going to be, Ghost Silvally has the best coverage due to only being resisted/immune but Dark and Normal, while Electric Silvally is sorta unique for being a physical Electric type not reliant on Wild Charge, as well as having still pretty darn-good coverage between Electric/Ice/Fire type moves. Normal Silvally has the worst coverage because it has the "Worst" Physical movepool in the sense of what it has to cover normal resists, but it has the most offensive power due to return being 102 BP instead of 90 as well as the ability to hold a power-boosting item. Flame Charge covers Steel Types for you (Don't underestimate what +2 LO Flame Charge is going to do), while Iron Head hits Rock Types and can make Ghost types flinch. Since Crunch only really hits Ghost Types for you and we're strapped for moveslots, it's the first move forgone.

I'm really interested in using a Special Set with Life Orb in the future--If it gets moves such as Hyper Voice and Earth Power it could be really strong. Tri-Attack doesn't do it for me.

Is it fine to put Fire fang on Silvally instead of flame charge so you can give off more damage

Silvally @ Fairy Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Flame Charge
- Multi Attack
- Crunch

Allow me to explain.
Fairy Memory makes Silvally apply great offensive and defensive pressure. Swords Dance is necessary to boost its lackluster attack. Flame Charge is there to cover the 4 mons not covered by Dark/Fairy, but more importantly, to bring it up on the speed tier, as 95 speed is not enough. Fairy-type Multi Attack applies the aforementioned great offense, with the key super effective hits. Crunch gives near perfect coverage with Fairy-type Multi Attack, with Flame Charge to fill it in.

Created an account mainly to say that this seems like a great idea. Was looking at the movepool, saw flame charge and thought that it seemed great utility. I personally hate the idea of passing over signature moves like mutli-attack, but i kept seeing no dream sets or special ones, so this was the kinda thing that came to mind. Different idea on the EVs, but actually makes a lot of sense. My thoughts were max attack max hp, bit I'll check a calculator.

VGC 17 Silvally

Silvally @ Ghost Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
- Shadow Ball
- Ice Beam / Thunderbolt
- Roar
- Protect

Silvally's access to Roar and Ghost typing with a Ghost Memory make it a fairly solid answer to the Hariyama + Porygon2 lead in VGC 2017, as the typing allows Silvally to be immune to Fake Out and Close Combat while not giving Knock Off a boost due to the nature of it's item. As Roar has -6 priority and Trick room has -7 priority, Silvally can Roar safely to force Porygon2 out and prevent the opponent from setting up Trick Room, changing the momentum of the battle. 252 HP EVs compliment Silvallys nice 95/95/95 bulk, and Shadow Ball gives it a STAB option. A Modest nature and special set are preferable to a physical set due to the saturation of Arcanine in the VGC 17 Meta. Silvally can surprise Garchomp with an OHKO via Ice Beam, something a physical set with Ice Fang cannot accomplish, or use Thunderbolt to dent Celesteela and Gyarados (use Shadow Ball to defeat Marowak if it tries to redirect for some reason). Protect is standard in VGC and any double battling format, as avoiding damage for a turn or lessening a Z move is invaluable.

Silvally @ Leftovers
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
- Tri Attack
- Ice Beam
- Flamethrower
- Thunderbolt

  • Tri Attack (Status, STAB)
  • Ice Beam (Coverage)
  • Flamethrower (Coverage)
  • Thunderbolt (Coverage)

This is just an all-out attacking Silvally set - switch in, kill, switch out again. You could also use a Fire/Ice/Electric Memory for STAB on whatever, but I prefer leaving as Tri-Attack has not got the best power. Held item can be switched too :) This set has won me LOTS of battles from Festival Plaza - Amazing!

Silvally-Flying @ Flying Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive Nature
- Swords Dance
- Multi-Attack
- Flame Charge
- Surf

Mixed Swords Dance set for Flyingvally. Swords Dance is for boosting your attack. Multi Attack is STAB and does a lot of damage to Eviolite Tangela and OHKOes it when Tangela's Eviolite is knocked off. Flame Charge is for boosting your speed while doing damage. Surf is for 2HKOing Rhydon and Coalossal upon them switching in.

This is your best bet.

Silvally @ Ghost Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance / Flame Charge
- Multi-Attack
- Iron Head
- Parting Shot

With Ghost Memory as your held item, you have immunities to both Normal- and Fighting-type Pokemon's STABs. The choice between Swords Dance and Flame Charge is your hardest decision here. Will you go for that extra attack or go for that extra speed? It's completely up to you but I'd go for Flame Charge for that coverage against Grass-, Ice-, and Steel-types. Multi-Attack is STAB and gives you coverage against Psychic- and Ghost-types. Iron Head is for coverage against Ice-, Rock-, and Fairy-types. Parting Shot allows you to switch out on an opponent who has you at a disadvantage and additionally lowers your opponents Attack and Special Attack both at the same time!

Parting Shot doesn't really work with Swords Dance...
Can you explain that to me more in depth? If so you would have made the choice between SD and Flame Charge a lot easier for me and everyone else who was interested in the set.
Well, Parting Shot makes you switch out and removes the boost from Swords Dance, and Swords Dance, Nasty Plot & Calm Mind users generally don't want to swap after taking a turn to set it up unless necessary- they'd rather proceed to try and sweep. However, though I wouldn't personally recommend it, U-turn works as the better alternative (at least with Swords Dance) because your boost will make it hit harder while also swapping you out.

But, everything is up to personal preference, and it's your Moveset after all, right?  :P

(Also, you might wanna add those extra 4 EVs into something.)

I have another moveset for Silvally, still a Ghost type, but maybe it could be an improvement?
- This is a SpA set, unlike my Atk set.

Silvally
Silvally @ Ghost Memory (duh)
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid / Modest Nature
- Work Up
- U-Turn
- Shadow Ball
- Ice Beam

(Yes, I do have a Shiny Silvally, and this Silvallys moveset and stats helped me to inspire).

This moveset might be for competitive. You can start off with a Work Up, so you can raise U-Turn's, Shadow Ball's and Ice Beam's power. Then, I would go for a Shadow Ball for the STAB and good damage.

Since Work Up increases Atk as well, your U-Turn should be stronger.

It might be a bit weird having a setup move and a switch out move, but U-Turn can help getting out of sticky situations. Don't blame me if you waste a turn switching with no damage. :/

Silvally @ Assault Vest
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 128 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest / Rash / Quiet / Mild Nature
- Flamethrower
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Tri Attack / Explosion / U-turn / Surf / Rock Slide

  • Tri Attack (STAB + 30% chance of causing status condition) / Explosion (last resort) / U-turn (retreat!) / Surf (singles) / Rock Slide
    (doubles)

Assault Vest is a Special Defense boost, as the EVs are spread elsewhere. The 'BoltBeamThrower set' ensures damage to a variety of types with guaranteed accuracy. The reason I chose Rock Slide is that it's got an average speed (116-131 at lvl 50) and there's 30% chance of flinching one of the opponents.

Physical Sweeper Set

Silvally @ Ground Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature

  • Multi-Attack
  • Fire Fang
  • Ice Fang
  • X-Scissor / U-Turn

Ground Silvally gets good type coverage and (obviously) a STAB with Multi-Attack, you could see this as Silvally's EarthQuake. This type Weaknesses are easily covered with a Fire type move (Fire Fang in this case), if you exclude Water Weakness, then you also have Ice Fang to deal with Ground/Dragon/Flying types, and you have X-Scissor/U-Turn to deal with Dark/Psychic ones. It's a decent All-rounder Physical Set, could be better if Silvally had better Stats.

Special Sweeper Set

Silvally @ Fire Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Modest / Timid Nature

  • Flamethrower (STAB)
  • Ice Beam
  • Signal Beam
  • Hidden Power [Ground]

Fire Typing is good imo because it has many Resistances and you can easily cover your weaknesses, and Fire moves cover a lot of types so there's that going too, I opted for Flamethrower instead of Multi-Attack here as the STAB move because the later one is a Physical move so it would be less benefficial for a Special Sweeper ofc, Ice Beam deals with Flying and Dragon types, also covers your Ground weakness, Signal Beam deals with Dark and Psychic ones. As for HP [Ground], it offers good type covering and deals with your Rock weakness, I see it as a Mini-Earth Power.

Role : Defensive/Coverage Pokemon

Silvally @ Focus Sash
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 196 Def / 50 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Defog
- Air Slash
- Multi Attack
- U Turn

~ Defog (To get rid of Stealth Rock, Spikes, etc.)
~ Air Slash (Get rid of those nasty Fighting-types)
~ Multi Attack (Coverage)
~ U Turn (Emergencies)

And...... That's about it!

Silvally @ Dragon Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Iron Head
- Multi Attack
- Fire Fang / Flame Charge

Swords Dance: I structured my Silvally as a Dragon-type physical sweeper and it can greatly be helpful with this move.
Iron Head: Deals with those pesky Ice- and Fairy-types, no problem.
Multi-Attack: STAB and good power. Simple enough.
Fire Fang / Flame Charge: Both moves can deal with Steel-types who resist Dragon moves. Flame charge can help with the sweeper role, and Fire fang can have better damage potential.

I want to bring up again, this is specifically for Dragon Silvally. I tried with other types and it didn't turn out as well. But about this set in general, once you get off one Swords Dance, you can become a very feared sweeper.

Just saying that Flame Charge would be better than Fire Fang because flame Charge raises your speed, so Iron Head might go first and then flinch.
Good point. Silvally's speed isn't entirely bad, but it's not really spectacular. So Flame Charge can be helpful.

Hello, this is my moveset for Fairy Silvally.

Unicorn (Silvally-Fairy) @ Fairy Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Zen Headbutt
- Multi-Attack
- Flame Charge / Fire Fang

  • Swords Dance (increase attack)
  • Zen Headbutt (to deal with Poison-types)
  • Multi-Attack (Fairy-type STAB)

I suggest Flame Charge cus it raises speed.

Gen 8 NU
Silvally-Fairy @ Fairy Memory
Ability: RKS System
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Multi-Attack
- Flame Charge
- Swords Dance
- Rock Slide / U-Turn

Multi Attack is strong STAB. Flame Charge is to boost your speed. Swords Danceis to boost your attack. You could either run Rock Slide to deal with Fire types, or you could run U-Turn for pivoting and keeping momentum.
