Moves not being able to be chosen?

Question

Sometimes when playing and I choose a move, it will only let me choose that move?
and its for things like thunderbolt?
Is it a glitch??

Is it holding a choice band, choice specs, or choice scarf?

There are a only a minute amount of different moves / abilities that can affect this, so I'll list all of them I know

• Your Pokémon has a Choice item on it (Choice Scarf, Band, etc) If the Pokemon has this then swap it with another item, for example the Light Ball.

• The opponents Pokémon has used Encore to stop you from choosing anything other than Thunderbolt. You must wait 2 to 6 turns for this affect to stop.
